Michael B. McNaughton has been a member of Hanson, Bridgett's litigation group since October 1993, where he has specialized in probate litigation, eminent domain litigation, complex anti-trust litigation, real estate litigation, and contract disputes. Experienced in commercial litigation at the trial and appellate levels, Michael's practice is divided nearly equally between the state and federal court systems. He has extensive independent experience in law and motion matters, all aspects of discovery and pre-trial litigation and has substantial trial and appellate advocacy experience. Michael is also an accomplished negotiator.
Michael's probate litigation practice includes representation of several charities, including The Salvation Army, the University of California, KQED, Shriners Hospitals and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, as well as individuals. He has litigated approximately one dozen Will and Trust contests, contested petitions for interpretation of testamentary instruments, contested conservatorship proceedings and petitions for substituted judgment. Michael successfully tried two will contests in 1997 and 1998, one of which resulted in judgment for the charitable beneficiaries in excess of one million dollars.
