Jennifer R. Berland specializes in real estate acquisition work, finance, development, leasing, management and disposition matters, as well as other general corporate work. Jennifer has developed significant expertise in representing assisted living and other senior care clients in complex real estate and business transactions, including assisting in the acquisition and financing of over 100 senior care and long term care communities located nationwide.
Jennifer represents a variety of clients, including developers and operators of senior care and long term care communities, common interest and condominium developers, non-profit entities, and large institutional investors.
Representative Transactions
- represented senior care client in the acquisition of 32 senior care communities (located in CA, IL, TX, OK, NB, TN and GA) and subsequently represented this client in the sale and operational leaseback of these communities for a total purchase price of $238,000,000
- $144,000,000 loan restructuring transaction involving 31 senior care communities nationwide
- ten property acquisitions for a total purchase price of $54,000,000
- $40,000,000 mezzanine financing transaction
- negotiated complex joint venture agreement for development of senior care communities in the Southeastern United States
- represented a developer in connection with a $140,000,000 construction loan and development project
- represented national clients on senior care projects as special counsel in California, providing all necessary real estate due diligence and opinions
